Stan Flint is a Mississippi native and seasoned veteran of southern politics. Prior to joining Southern Strategy Group, Stan’s activities spanned three decades and a broad spectrum of political operations, including media relations, campaigns and elections, economic development, historic preservation, international affairs, and issue advocacy. In recent years, Stan’s efforts have centered on lobbying, and he now serves a host of clients with needs in Jackson and throughout Mississippi.

In the 1980s, Stan successfully led Mississippi’s decade-long effort to oppose the Department of Energy’s plan to store nuclear waste in Mississippi; a campaign that was supported by business and environmental interests. Following that, Stan managed several successful Mississippi attorney general and Congressional campaigns. Stan then successfully orchestrated a county-wide referendum in Birmingham, Alabama, to approve greyhound racing. Although the measure had previously failed under another consultant, Stan’s strategy was to prove successful. Returning to Mississippi in December 1999, Stan began actively lobbying for municipal and corporate clients. Stan now represents clients as diverse as Isle of Capri Casinos, the largest Mississippi-based publicly traded corporation, and the Mississippi Coalition For Citizens With Disabilities, a statewide advocacy organization for people with disabilities.
