With more than 25 years of political experience in Alabama, Carol Brown has carved a niche for lobbying in her home state’s ever-changing health care and business arenas.  A founding partner of the Alabama office, Carol previously lobbied the state legislature and coordinated federal grassroots efforts as Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Business Council of Alabama, the state’s largest and most diverse business trade organization.

While early in her career she compiled an extensive background in Democratic political circles, Carol has worked on both sides of the political aisle, assisting many candidates with their re-election bids and developing key relationships throughout the years.  A 1985 Auburn University graduate, Carol began her career in journalism covering politics and health care issues for the State’s capital city newspaper, The Montgomery Advertiser.

Since joining Southern Strategy Group, Carol has had ongoing success representing clients in the insurance and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the health care provider community. Carol has excellent working relationships with Alabama’s health care regulatory agencies, including the Insurance Department, Public Health, Medicaid and the State Health Planning and Development Agency.

Carol has developed far-reaching contacts throughout both the legislative and executive branches of state government.
