Damian dealt with a variety of issues while at The Home Depot including trade, land use, tax, environmental, loss prevention and finance. Damian was also responsible for the development and execution of strategic engagement plans with targeted elected officials through grassroots activities, business deals, direct lobbying, affinity contact and development as well as targeted PAC contributions.

Damian was an integral part of Fannie Mae’s political support network, “considered among the most sophisticated and extensive political-influence machines in corporate America, exceeding even the much-storied programs of AT&T Corp. and a range of military contractors,” according to the Washington Post.
Damian has also had an extensive political career, serving California Governor Wilson as the Special Assistant for the California Department of Corporations where he was responsible for the department’s external and political outreach. Damian dealt specifically with the regulatory oversight of HMOs, state securities and mortgage brokers. Prior to joining the Wilson Administration, Damian served in Governor Wilson’s successful 1994 re-election campaign.
